1. Introduction

LifeSteps ("the App") is a personal wellness and mental health companion designed to help you build healthy habits, track your mood, and receive AI-powered coaching. Your privacy is fundamental to everything we build.

2. Data We Collect

LifeSteps processes the following data locally on your device:

• Health Data — Steps, sleep, activity, and heart rate data from Apple HealthKit (with your explicit permission)
• Mood & Journal Entries — Your mood check-ins, reflections, and journal notes
• Habit Tracking — Your custom habits, streaks, and completion data
• Coach Conversations — Your conversations with the AI Coach
• Preferences — App settings, onboarding answers, and personalization choices

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Provide personalized coaching and recommendations
• Track your progress and surface behavioral patterns
• Generate weekly insights about your wellness journey
• Improve the AI Coach's relevance to your specific situation

4. AI Coach & Data Processing

When you interact with the AI Coach, your conversation context (including relevant mood, activity, and habit data) is sent to our AI service provider (Anthropic/Claude) to generate personalized responses. This data is:

• Transmitted securely via HTTPS
• Not stored by the AI provider beyond the conversation session
• Not used to train AI models
• Limited to the minimum context needed for a helpful response

5. Data Storage

All personal data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage mechanisms. We do not operate servers that store your personal data. If you delete the app, all local data is permanently removed.

6. Third-Party Services

• Apple HealthKit — Read-only access to health data you explicitly authorize. We never write to HealthKit or share your health data.
• RevenueCat — Subscription management. Processes only purchase data, not personal health or wellness data.
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — Powers the AI Coach. See section 4.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose unrelated to the App's core functionality.

8. Your Rights

You can at any time:

• Revoke HealthKit permissions in iOS Settings
• Delete all coach conversations within the App
• Delete all data by uninstalling the App
• Contact us with any privacy-related questions

9. Children's Privacy

LifeSteps is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the App.
